What Does Acupuncture Do?
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice involves inserting thin needles into specific points in the body to stimulate the central nervous system. This causes the brain and spinal cord to release chemicals, such as endorphins, that help alleviate pain and improve mood. This technique may also increase blood circulation throughout the body to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture is one of the key components that promotes and facilitates the delicate balance of two opposing and inseparable forces, Yin and Yang. Yin represents the cold, slow, or passive principal, while Yang represents toe hot, excited, or active principle. According to TCM, health is achieved by maintaining the body in a “balanced state”. Dis-ease in the body arises from an internal imbalance of Yin and Yang.
This imbalance leads to a blockage in the flow of Qi (vital energy) along pathways in the body known as energy meridians. Qi can be unblocked, according to TCM, by using acupuncture needles at certain points on the body that connect with these energy meridians.
In our practice, we incorporate a complete and thorough assessment followed by a treatment plan that addresses the whole body and not just your physical symptoms.
At Eastern Integrative Services, we believe that healing begins when the body is in balance and natural healing can occur.
What Our Clients Are Saying...
Anne is the best, seriously. I was lucky to have found her in 2010, and she literally saved my life. I have been going to her ever since, and she is a big part of why I feel as good as I do. She treats many veterans (like me) through the VA administration, that alone should tell you something. I have also had the pleasure of Melissa working on me and she is wonderful also.
Both her offices (Ann Arbor & Dearborn) are “super clean” staff are always friendly, music is always relaxing and I feel like family there. I highly recommend Eastern Integrative Services.

Anne is compassionate, gentle, knowledgeable, thorough, respectful, and makes you feel seen and heard. If you’re hesitant – don’t be. This is the place to go. You won’t regret it.
To top it off – she accepts insurance and I am lucky enough to have it all covered by my insurance. Make sure you check your insurance coverage – you might be lucky!
