Anne Biris

Anne Biris, L.Ac

Anne is a nationally board-certified (NCCAOM) and State of Michigan registered acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist, and massage therapist. As the owner of Eastern Integrative Services, she also serves as the founder and president of the Humanitarian Acupuncture Project (HAP) and is current Board of Director for the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM).

Anne has been practicing since 1994, and has extensive training in various fields, including fertility, women’s health, pain management, and cancer care and recovery.

Anne earned her master’s degree in Chinese Medicine and a bachelor’s in Nutrition from Pacific College and Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. She trained under Dr. Cai, a renowned expert in gynecology and fertility using Chinese herbs. This hands-on clinical experience has contributed to her success in helping couples conceive, both naturally and during fertility treatments.

Since 1998, Anne has collaborated closely with Dr. Kraynek in pain management and sports-related injuries. She discovered that combining acupuncture with deep tissue massage and cupping is more effective than acupuncture alone.

Anne’s passion for cancer care stems from a deep desire to support individuals facing life-altering challenges. She has had the privilege of collaborating with both Western and Eastern medical professionals, who have generously shared their expertise in procedures, tests, and standard care, enriching her ability to provide compassionate and effective treatment.

Anne’s dedication to her craft didn’t end with her formal education, which included seven years of rigorous schooling. Her love of learning continues to drive her, as she passionately pursues ongoing growth and development as a practitioner. This commitment to excellence is evident in her post-graduate studies with esteemed teachers Lonny Jarrett and Nicholas Herman Oving, which have further enhanced her ability to provide the best care for her patients.

Anne’s latest venture is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream: bringing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to parts of the world where suffering and poverty are unimaginable by American standards. When she learned that Walter Fischer was seeking volunteers for his clinics in India, she instantly knew this was her calling. After numerous Skype sessions and emails, Anne made her first trip to India in January 2011. The experience left such a profound impact on her that she now returns yearly. Her deep connection with the Indian people and the clinics inspired her to establish the Humanitarian Acupuncture Project.
